“Reflections” - was a radio broadcast that I happened to listen to in the car on a Sunday morning in July 2013. The speaker reported about new glasses that can be produced for approximately one US-Dollar a pair. This could be the solution for millions of people who could - so far - simply not afford to buy glasses. Interesting! Back at home I researched the internet to find out more. Fascinating: the production of the spectacles takes place in poorer countries - thus jobs will be created through the production and sales there…

“Reflecting” - I did a lot in the months to follow. I contacted Martin, received more information from him, read a lot and could not let go. This idea is great. After successful pilot projects the aim is now to provide nationwide coverage in the first chosen countries. The OneDollarGlasses-initiative has the potential to provide more than 100 million people permanently with eyeglasses.

Therefore I have decided to support OneDollarGlasses. I aim to set up the organization and the global structure, so that we can help many people as quickly as possible.
